Gold coins - French Gold 40 Francs

These beautiful coins were minted from 1807-1813, and are often called Napoleon I gold coins because they feature picture of the great Napoleon, crowned with laurel leaves. These coins have also very interesting historic background since Napoleon once he became emperor ordered all coins not carrying his picture to be melted down, and these coins became extremely circulated, which is the reason why many of these coins became quite worn and today are very few coins of this type in perfect conditions and these coins are extremely valuable.

Their gold content is 0.3734 oz. and their weight 12,9 grams, meaning they have larger size than most coins which makes them more popular. French gold 40 Francs present acquisition worthy of any quality coin collection, however having their scarcity in mind, they do cost a bit more than majority of other gold coins.
