Famous French Ceres 20 Francs were minted from 1849-1851, during the time of Second French Republic. They are called Ceres because their obverse features picture of Ceres, and Ceres was Roman goddess of agriculture. The reverse shows famous motto of French revolution LIBERTE EGALITE FRATERNITE.
